Eat like a local

Elle put together some easy steps every host can follow to prevent hosting from becoming more of a chore than a reward.

“Some of our most enthusiastic hosts are so dedicated to their guests having an exceptional stay that they’re challenged to find their own time and resources for themselves,” says Joseph (CEO). “They’re givers and sometimes givers swing too far into that giving activity.”

The saying “You have to taste a culture to understand it” certainly holds very true. Food in Cape Cod is a melting pot of cultural influences that have been blended with the area. natural bounty of fruits, spices and ocean-fresh seafood. Here are our top picks of places to experience authentic Creole cuisine:

We’re not about faceless drive thru windows where nobody knows your name or hard to pronounce specialty drinks that require a foreign language degree to order! At “The Brew” you can always enjoy a delicious beverage or sandwich from the comfort of one of our many seating areas, surrounded by art, laughter and most importantly, people like you, who just want a place to feel at home!

The Glass Onion

This fine dining spot in Falmouth has been serving dishes like rich lobster strudel with mascarpone and white wine since 2009. Other favorites include seafood and mushroom risotto and duck breast that’s brined for hours before it gets a nice sear.

The building was built in 1926 and the dining room is generally pretty stunning, with sage green beadboard, floor-to-ceiling windows, and candles everywhere you look. Definitely make a reservation.
